Pancreatic cancer can place a profound burden on both physical comfort and overall quality of life, particularly when the disease causes ongoing abdominal or back pain, reduced appetite, weight loss, fatigue, and progressive weakness. As symptoms become more challenging, care often extends beyond tumour control alone to include meaningful relief of pain and other distressing effects of the disease. In selected patients, local symptom-focused treatment may play an important role in supporting comfort, preserving function, and complementing a wider palliative care plan. This is especially relevant in pancreatic cancer, where symptom relief can make a significant difference to day-to-day well-being and the overall treatment journey.
